At approximately 1pm today, an African American elderly woman (mid to late 70's) was struck and dragged into the intersection of East Fordham Road and Valentine Avenue in the Bronx. A green Jeep Cherokee (NYS License:EPW9466) ran the light at Valentine Avenue going south. He struck the elderly woman who had the right of way to cross at the light. Another champagne colored Jeep Cherokee (NYS License: BRS6719) rear ended the green Jeep Cherokee causing serious vehicular damage. By standers and other pedestrians had to flag down the driver of the green Cherokee in order for him to stop. Some on lookers speculate the driver of the green Jeep was attempting to flee the scene of the crime. Cops and ambulatory services from nearby St. Barnabas Hospital arrived shortly thereafter. The impact was so strong the elderly woman's wig was found dislodged from her head, on the north-west corner of the scene. This could have beeen anyones' grandmother. Our prayers are with the unidentified elderly woman and her family.
