Frugal Eats 101 - 20-minute Lasagna

As a mom, I have become the most resourceful person, on the planet to date. I find ways to cut costs, save time in the kitchen and even squeeze in a nap during the day. I am not a fan of Kraft Mac and Cheese but everyone else in the house raves about it. So, majority rules (despite what you hear from other moms) so I decided to get creative with my 'Mac and Cheese.'

Ingredients:

1 box of KRAFT Mac and Cheese
1 pound of ground chicken or turkey
1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella or Monterrey jack cheese
1 jar of marinara sauce
1/2 cup of heavy cream

Boil KRAFT macaroni and cook until al dente. While the macaroni is boiling, take a saute pan and thoroughly cook the ground chicken or turkey. Add seasoning to taste. Add the jar of marinara sauce and 1/2 cup of heavy cream. This gives the sauce a nice creamy consistency, that the entire family will enjoy. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. After adding the cheese sauce from KRAFT to macaroni, take a glass baking dish and place the macaroni in the dish as the bottom layer of the lasagna. Add a layer of ground chicken or turkey mixture, and continue to alternate layers. For the top layer, add the grated mozzarella or Monterrey jack cheese ( If you are a cheese lover, add cheese on each layer to make your creation the cheesiest)

Place your masterpiece in the oven for about ten minutes or until cheese has melted. No need to wait for the dish to cool down. Take out and server immediately.

A nice baby spinach, tomato and olive salad is a nice compliment to the meal. Eat up and enjoy your caloric intake. Winter is around the corner!
